1 Who we are
CamotesGO (“CamotesGO”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a mobile and web “super-app” for Camotes Island, Cebu, Philippines that connects travelers and residents with rides, stays, vehicle rentals, ferry information, food and errand services, and local stores. CamotesGO is operated by IslaGO Technologies Inc. based in San Francisco, Camotes Island, Cebu, Philippines.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the CamotesGO apps (Android and iOS) and website at camotesgo.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using CamotesGO you agree to this Policy.
2 Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the service. This includes:

3 How we use your information
- Provide, operate and maintain CamotesGO and its features (rides, stays, rentals, ferry info, food, errands, stores).
- Create your account, authenticate you and keep it secure.
- Match travelers with drivers, hosts, rental owners and stores, and coordinate bookings and payments.
- Send service notifications (booking confirmations, ride/order status, reminders) via push, SMS and email.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Protect the safety of users, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- Comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.
- Improve the service and fix problems using aggregated or diagnostic data.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
5 Third-party services we use
CamotesGO relies on the following providers, whose handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Sign-In — optional login (name, email, profile picture).
- Google Firebase — Cloud Messaging (push notifications) and Crashlytics (crash diagnostics).
- OpenStreetMap / MapTiler — map tiles and geocoding for the in-app map.
- Semaphore — SMS delivery for one-time verification codes.
- Payment channels (GCash, Maya) — where you choose e-wallet payment; you interact with them directly and we do not store your wallet credentials.
- Cloud hosting — secure servers that store app data.
6 Location & device permissions
CamotesGO asks for permissions only when a feature needs them, and you can decline or revoke any of them in your device settings:
- Location — to show the map, set pickup/drop-off, match rides and help drivers navigate. Drivers may share location while online so nearby ride requests can reach them. We do not track your location when the relevant feature is not in use.
- Camera / Photos — only to let you take or choose photos you upload (profile, listings, products).
- Notifications — to send booking and ride/order updates.
Disabling a permission may limit related features but you can still use the rest of the app.
7 Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data as described in Section 9, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example transaction records) by law.
8 Your rights & choices
- Access & correction — view and update your profile (name, photo, contact) in the app at any time.
- Deletion — delete your account and data (see Section 9).
- Notifications — turn push notifications on/off in your device settings.
- Google Sign-In — disconnect CamotesGO from your Google Account at any time in your Google Account settings.
- Withdraw consent — stop using the app and delete your account; some features will no longer be available.
9 Deleting your account and data
You can permanently delete your CamotesGO account and associated personal data in two ways:
- In the app: Profile → Account → Delete account.
- On the web: visit camotesgo.com/delete-account.html and follow the steps, or email us (Section 13).
Deleting your account removes your profile, login and personal data from CamotesGO. Records we are legally required to keep (such as completed-transaction and payout records) may be retained for the period required by law and then deleted.
10 Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and secure hosting. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address any issues.
11 Children
CamotesGO is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12 Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of CamotesGO after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
