1 From Danao City (the usual route)
The most popular way to reach Camotes is from Danao City, about 1.5 hours north of Cebu City. Ferries depart from the Danao port to Consuelo Port in San Francisco, Camotes.
Ferry types: RORO (roll-on/roll-off) and fast craft · Multiple daily trips · ~1.5–2 hours
If you're driving, the RORO lets you bring your car or motorbike across to the island.
2 From Cebu City
On select schedules, fast ferries also run from the Cebu City pier directly to Camotes (Poro or Consuelo). This saves the land trip to Danao but usually has fewer daily departures, so check schedules ahead.
3 The ports on Camotes
- Consuelo Port — in San Francisco, closest to Santiago Bay, Mangodlong and most resorts.
- Poro Port — in the town of Poro, convenient for the Poro and Tudela side of the island.
4 Travel time & fares
Sea travel from Cebu to Camotes takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the vessel and weather. Fares vary by ferry operator and vessel type (fast craft cost a bit more than RORO). Rates and schedules change with the season, so always confirm the latest trips before you go.

5 After you arrive
From the port, the easiest ways to reach your hotel or the beaches are:
- Habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) — fast and affordable.
- Tricycle — for short trips and small groups.
- Rented motorbike, car or van — to explore the whole island freely.

6 Ferry tips
- Arrive at the port early, especially on weekends and holidays when trips fill up.
